Blessing Okagbare, a four time national champion at UTEP, dashed to an eighth-place finish in the 100m dash finals on Monday in Beijing at the IAAF World Championships.

Former UTEP sprinter and jumper, Blessing Okagbare, will represent the country of Nigeria at the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing from Aug. 22-30.

Five Miners (four women and one male) were named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the track.

Four-time national champion Anthony Rotich was named the Conference USA Male Athlete of the Year as announced by commissioner Britton Banowsky on Wednesday.

For the third-straight year, Anthony Rotich was named the Male Conference USA Track Athlete of the Year. The award was voted on by head track and field coaches in C-USA.
