The men's and women's cross country team competed in the Chile Pepper Festival Saturday morning. The men's team finished fourth overall, and the women's team finished 29th.

UTEP will travel east to Arkansas this weekend to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival. The event will feature a more challenging field for the Miners compared to the prior races run this season.

For the second week in a row, the UTEP cross country team had two athletes selected as the Conference USA Athlete of the Week.

UTEP performed at a very high level Friday evening at the Chamizal National Park. For the second consecutive week, junior Anthony Rotich and freshman Joan Jepkirui took home first-place finishes for their respective meets.

The men's and women's cross-country team will host its first and only home meet of the 2014 campaign Friday afternoon at the Chamizal National Park.

Anthony Rotich and Joan Jepkirui earned recognition from Conference USA for their performance last week at the Kachina Classic.
