The UTEP track and field team had a strong showing in the 1,500m races by both the women and men. In the women's race, Lilian Koech (4:32.03) and teammate Joan Jepkirui (4:33.22) sprinted to a one-two finish. For the men, Anthony Rotich (3:46.58) finished first, while Cosmas Boit (3:50.68) followed close behind to finish third.
